Unstructured charges $0.03 per page, which is $30 per 1,000 pages, and the price is the same for every processing strategy. What sets it apart is the free tier of 15,000 pages a month and a $3,000 spend cap that makes pages free up to a million a month. Here is the full rate math.

Unstructured chunks documents for a language model. If you need named fields in a database instead, try the extractor here on your own file.
Unstructured costs $0.03 per page on Pay As You Go, which is $30 per 1,000 pages, and that rate holds for every processing strategy, Fast, Hi-Res and VLM alike. Every account gets 15,000 free pages a month that reset, the most generous renewing free tier in the category. The unusual part is the spend cap: your monthly bill stops at $3,000, reached at 100,000 paid pages, and from there every page is free up to a million pages a month. So heavy users never pay more than $3,000, and at a full million pages the effective rate falls to about $3 per 1,000 pages. Note that Unstructured partitions documents into RAG-ready JSON elements rather than extracting named business fields, so its $30 rate is not a straight comparison with Textract or Azure field extraction. And ignore the "$1 per 1,000 pages" figure in older articles, that was the retired serverless rate.
The per-page rate is Unstructured's own published figure. The per-1,000-pages column converts it, and the last two rows show what the spend cap does at scale.
| Line | Unit | Per page | Per 1,000 pages | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pay As You Go, any strategy | $0.03 / page | $0.030 | $30.00 | Fast, Hi-Res and VLM all one price |
| Free tier | 15,000 pages / month | $0.000 | $0.00 | Resets monthly, no card |
| After free tier, up to the cap | $0.03 / page | $0.030 | $30.00 | Until the monthly bill reaches $3,000 |
| Monthly spend cap | $3,000 / month | capped | capped | Reached at 100,000 paid pages |

Rates read from the Unstructured pricing page on July 22, 2026. Pay As You Go is $0.03 per page for every strategy; the free tier is 15,000 pages a month that reset; the bill caps at $3,000 with pages free from there to 1 million a month. Re-verify before quoting.
The spend cap is the reason Unstructured's cost curve looks nothing like a per-page meter at volume.
0 to 15,000
The first 15,000 pages each month cost nothing and the allowance resets. A small or seasonal workload can run entirely inside the free tier, indefinitely.
to $3,000
Past the free tier you pay $0.03 per page. The bill reaches its $3,000 ceiling at 100,000 paid pages, so 50,000 paid pages is $1,500 and 100,000 is $3,000. That is the most you pay below a million pages.
to 1,000,000
From the cap up to a million pages a month, every page is free. Spread the $3,000 across a full million pages and the effective rate is about $0.003 per page, or $3 per 1,000, near the hyperscalers volume tiers.
At list price Unstructured sits with the agentic tools; at the spend cap it drops toward cloud OCR. See the full picture on the OCR pricing per 1,000 pages reference or the agentic extraction comparison.
